The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is a recognized leader and innovator in interdisciplinary studies, a college focused exclusively on excellence in the undergraduate college experience.

Founded in 1908 by the first Oklahoma Legislature after statehood, USAO serves proudly as Oklahoma’s only public liberal arts college. We earned a national reputation for quality as Oklahoma’s only women’s college, but we became coeducational in 1965. USAO is located in Chickasha, less than 45 minutes from urban shopping and entertainment in three directions: Oklahoma City, Norman, and Lawton. Nature lovers enjoy the rich scenery of the Wichita Wildlife Refuge just 40 minutes southwest. The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is also known as USAO.
