Access to Retain Talent) Grants
Beginning fall 2006, the National SMART Grant is available to third-year and fourth-year students who are also receiving a Pell Grant. The SMART Grant provides up to $4,000 per year in addition to the student's Pell Grant. To be eligible, the student must be a U.S. citizen, enrolled full-time in the third or fourth year of a four-year degree program, have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 and be majoring in either mathematics, science, technology, engineering or a critical foreign language such as Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Japanese or Russian.
