Insider Info

The Professional Caddies Association (PCA) has approximately 3,000 members. "A majority of our caddies work at golf clubs, caddying for the club members," says Laura Drumm. She is the chief information officer for the PCA.

"It's more common to see caddies in clubs in the northeast," says Drumm. "Clubs can employ anywhere from 10 to 300 caddies."

The wages earned by a professional caddy vary with amount of work done and the level of player they're assisting.

"It depends on who you are working for, and their performance on the golf course," says Amy Lillibridge, a golf caddy currently living in Ohio. "Obviously if you caddy for Tiger Woods, you can make a very nice living."

Earnings and employment information from the U.S. Department of Labor is not available for this field at this time.
