Insider Info

Ticket broker Barry Lefkowitz says average ticket brokers gross $1 million to $3 million a year. However, that's not all profit. Self-employed brokers must pay expenses and staff before they can draw a salary. Entry-level brokers working for a company may earn a base salary and commission.

As long as there are concerts, sports events and plays, there will be ticket brokers. Folks will always need last-minute tickets.

"Employment trends are stable," says Lefkowitz. "If anything, I've gotten a large amount of calls within the last six months from people wanting to start their own business."

Earnings and employment information from the U.S. Department of Labor is not available for this field at this time.
