Real-Life Math

Every sport measures success with its own unique parameters. Swimming competitions are won and lost by a matter of split seconds. Recently, Natalie Coughlin gave a masterful performance at an important tournament. She won 5 events, including the butterfly, backstroke and individual medley categories.

During this competition, Coughlin won the 200-meter backstroke, breaking the 15 and 16 national age group record. This is how her winning time compares to the old record set by Jamie Wagstaff:

Coughlin's winning time: 1:53:45
Wagstaff's previous record time: 1:56:14

By what percentage is Natalie's time faster than Jamie's?
