Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You continue training your swimmer for the Olympic trials.

Your swimmer miraculously maintains his health up to the opening day of the trials. However, during a practice heat he reinjures himself and is unable to qualify for the actual competition. He spends six weeks in traction at a local hospital and doesn't go near a pool for the next five years.
