Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You advise your swimmer that he should retire due to nagging, serious injuries.

This is the real-life decision made by coach Aaron Dahl. Dahl advised the swimmer to take a hard look at his swimming prospects balanced with his diminished physical capability. He told him he could retire proud, being ranked fourth in the country at the time. The swimmer eventually graduated from college with a degree in education and currently teaches.

Dahl is pleased to report that the swimmer is "very happy and continues to help coach at a local swim club." Dahl is particularly pleased that "we still keep in touch every couple of weeks."
