Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You go ahead with the trip.

You don't want to disappoint the residents, so you don't say anything. After you get on the highway, it starts to snow.

Soon, the wind picks up and the snow falls more heavily. Some of the passengers are concerned about their safety. The driver tells you he's not comfortable driving further. He's afraid the bus could slide into the ditch.

You realize you made a mistake. You shouldn't have put the residents at risk just to avoid disappointing them.

"You just check the road conditions," says recreation therapist Randy Bourassa. "If they seem unsafe, then you just cancel the outing or change it."
