The Bowditches have hired your company, Big Peak Roofing, to reshingle their roof. It's in rough shape, with many pieces missing or curled by the sun.

You're measuring the Bowditches' roof to calculate its area. Once you have its area, you'll know how many bundles of asphalt shingles you need.

The roof is 44 feet long. The 2 sides, which slope up to the peak, are each 15 feet wide.

One bundle of shingles will cover 33 square feet of roof. You also need a starter row to go around the perimeter of the roof. One bundle of starter will go 69 feet. Finally, you need capping for the peak of the roof. One bundle of capping will go 28 feet.

  1. What is the area of the roof? How many bundles of shingles will you need?
  2. What is the length of the roof's perimeter? How many bundles of starter will you need?
  3. What is the length of the roof peak? How many bundles of capping will you need?
