Real-Life Decision Making

You're working as an ergonomist for a company that builds and designs all kinds of airplanes. For 15 years, you've had the very rewarding responsibility of making airplanes safer to fly. Lately, however, you've been disturbed by the project you've been assigned to work on.

Your company has designed a missile and wants you to look at the operating system to ensure it's "user-friendly." Since you had always taken pride in the fact that your work saved lives, you are totally uncomfortable with using your knowledge to help build a better weapon.

You have told the project supervisor you don't want this project, but he'll only give you two options: you do the job or you quit.

You are totally opposed to the creation of new arms. However, you could try to use your knowledge to come up with a better design for the missile which would make it safer to operate. What are you going to do?
