Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You keep struggling and hope someone comes to help.

You struggle, becoming more panicked. It becomes harder and harder to think clearly. Your begin hyperventilating, wasting some of your precious supply of air.

Finally, you see one of your teammates swimming toward you. She cuts you free from the rigging, and you both struggle to make it to the surface. Other teammates pull you aboard quickly before the current gets worse. You're all right, although badly shaken.

However, your commanding officer is not pleased. He summons you to his office, where he criticizes you for putting a teammate's life in danger. He tells you he has serious doubts as to whether you have what it takes to be a clearance diver.

The incident goes on your official record. Your commanding officer makes it clear that if a similar incident occurs again, you will be demoted and expelled. And you won't be going on any solo dives in the near future.
