Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You stay where you are a while longer, hoping to disentangle and retrieve the net.

You are concerned about losing your net. After all, it is part of your livelihood, just like your vessel and your crew. It will cost dearly and cut deeply into your profit. Time is short and so is the fishing season.

You are experienced and have retrieved many nets in similar situations, so you are confident that it is worth the risk to stay a few more minutes.

A sudden wind off the sea drives your vessel closer to the rocks. You speed up the engines and turn away from the rocks. Two crewmembers cut the ropes and let the net go. You head out to sea, thankful that one of your crew took the initiative to let the net go.
