Real-Life Communication -- Solution
Even in thank-you or follow-up notes or letters to a sponsor or
bowling center owner, you should be sure to use standard letter format.
In
professional sports, including bowling, image does count. Don't forget to
thank the people who invested money and time to host a tournament or competition.
After the event is over, send a sample letter such as the one below to express
your appreciation:
(Note: Use standard white paper and type it by using
a typewriter or computer.)

Dear Mr. Smith,
Thanks so much for hosting
the Firebolt Classic professional bowling tournament. It was one of the best
tournaments I've had the opportunity to participate in this year.
Please
extend my appreciation to your staff. They were very helpful and accommodating
during our stay. I especially enjoyed the Friday night welcome dinner your
center hosted for the tournament participants.
Sincerely,
Sue Jones,

Bowler
"We also send thank-you letters to the sponsors
of the tournaments," says former professional bowler Diana Teeters.
When
it comes to competing in a professional sport, the bowlers themselves realize
that without the support, cooperation and sponsorship of organizations, bowling
centers and commercial businesses, the tournaments in which bowlers compete
would not be possible.
