You've always found practicing Reiki a rewarding experience. Now, you've decided to quit your office job and work as a Reiki master full time. You are also qualified to train others to be Reiki masters.

To figure out how much work you'll need to cover your bills, use the following information.

  • Your monthly expenses are $1,200 for rent, $400 for groceries, $250 for insurance, $400 for loan payments, and $300 for miscellaneous expenses.
  • For your hourly Reiki sessions, you plan to charge the going rate of $40.
  • For a Level I Reiki class, you plan to charge $125.
  • For a Level II Reiki class, you plan to charge $130.
  • For a Master Reiki class, you plan to charge $385.

Using the above information, answer the following questions:

  1. What are your total monthly expenses?
  2. Based on previous experience, you expect to teach 5 Level I classes, 4 Level II classes, and 3 Master classes each month. How much will these classes earn you? How many hourly Reiki sessions will you need to conduct to cover the balance?
