Real-Life Communication -- Solution

Here's what you could say:

I am here today to talk to you about organ transplants and the importance of organ donors in saving lives.

Did you guys know that every 16 minutes, another person in the United States goes on the organ transplant waiting list? Believe it! That's not to say that these people are home free, that just because they're on the list they're going to make it.

Between 1993 and 1997, the percentage of people dying while waiting for a new kidney went from 3.7 to 3.6 to 4.0. These are not encouraging numbers, people! Signing your donor card when you become of age is very, very important. Lives can be saved by the simple act of putting pen to paper and signing the card.

Did you know that nine out of 10 patients survive heart transplants? That after five full years, seven out of 10 are still alive? These are very positive facts! Transplants are a good thing. Please consider becoming an organ donor.

Thank you all for your time and may you all have long, healthy lives.
