Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You assign the kidney to young Duke Dudley because his condition is more urgent.

The waiting list is there for a reason and you should not overrule it. Granted, young Duke needs a kidney. But so does Maude. Remember that you're a surgeon, not God.

"As a surgeon, there are sometimes tough choices," says transplant surgeon Dr. Todd Demmy. "It's up to us to be strong, to justify the faith people put in us. We do our best to do what's right. Let the chips fall where they may."
