Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You tell the family they must accept the situation.

You sit down with the family. You explain that, while you sympathize with their feelings, your client has signed a contract. Legally, you have every right to be here.

The next few days are unpleasant, to say the least. The process of preparing the body for transport takes several days. The family remains in the house the entire time, expressing their resentment and disapproval every chance they get.

Finally, you are ready to leave. At the next staff meeting, your group discusses how to avoid similar situations in the future. You decide that from now on, someone from the facility will contact clients within a month of their signing the contracts, to make sure that they have spoken with family members.
