You have been hired with a team of doctors to work as a sports doctor at the next Olympic Games. Working as a sports doctor sometimes offers exciting international opportunities for you.

Ron Reznick was fortunate enough to work at the Commonwealth Games during the summer of 1994. He found that the level of competitiveness was both interesting and challenging. Reznick worked with a team of doctors for the track and field events. "There were several of us involved in the track and field area -- our job was to treat any injuries that were on the track."

When you are working with athletes from all over the world, you have to be able to convert metric weights into imperial and vice-versa.

There are many athletes from Britain. Many of these athletes only know their body weights in "stone."

"You need math in everything from testing and analyzing bone structure to figuring out weights and measures," says Reznick.

One of the athletes weighs 12 stone. Figure out the athlete's body weight in pounds and kilograms.

1 stone = 14 pounds
1 pound = 0.4536 kg
