Re:
New Health Insurance Regulations
To All Athletic Coaches:
Please
be advised that the Davidson County school board recently instituted new regulations
regarding student athletes' health-care coverage.
Under the new
regulations, every student must be actively covered under a valid policy in
order to participate in any school-sponsored athletic program.
For
students who are not currently covered, the school board has made arrangements
for a low-cost insurance policy to cover the student, at the parents'
expense. The coverage will be effective at all school-sponsored practices
and games, and during transportation to and from games.
Students not
covered by an existing policy will be required to purchase this policy or
withdraw from all school-sponsored athletic programs.
Proof of insurance
coverage or an application for school-sponsored insurance coverage must be
delivered to me within 45 days. Students and programs that do not provide
this documentation will be barred from participating in school-sponsored athletics.
If
you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank
you,
Davidson County Schools
Athletic Director
