Real-Life Communication -- Solution

Writing a corporate letter is not difficult. It is important to remember proper grammar, spelling and punctuation, and to present all of the facts in the most succinct manner possible. Here's an example:

To: Buyer
CC: Seller
Re: Counter-offer from seller

Dear Buyer:

Thank you for the offer to purchase the seller's property. However, we find that deal unacceptable and are prepared to counter-offer the following terms.

The seller would like to receive $850,000 for the sale of the business. Under these negotiations, the seller also requests that all employees be guaranteed employment for a period of two years after the date of closing on the sale.

Finally, it is our request that all employees currently enrolled in the benefit plan be covered under those benefits for the two-year period during which they will be guaranteed employment.

We hope that you will find these terms agreeable. Please feel free to contact me at my office to discuss this offer. I am available at your convenience.

Thank you for your time. I'll look forward to your timely response to this counter-offer.
