Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You decide to give Lisa the prescription for the contact lenses.

You write out the prescription for Lisa and give it to her father. A week after getting the contact lenses, Lisa calls to tell you she thinks her eyes are getting better, since the contacts have allowed her to see things more clearly.

Three months later, though, when Lisa loses her vision completely, she is devastated. She had held out too much hope and had not mentally prepared herself for blindness. You feel badly for getting her hopes up and Lisa's father is angry with you for prescribing the contacts after all.
