Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You turn the bus around.

You instruct the driver to turn around and go back to the city, where you take the woman to the hospital. It turns out the woman is feeling sick because she drank too much wine and ate too much rich food last night.

The other group members grumble when they learn their tour was cancelled for this reason. The tour manager is not pleased, either. She asks you why you didn't have a talk with the woman first, or at least phone the tour company for advice before telling the driver to turn around. You wish you had not been so hasty.

"Sometimes there are situations that are very difficult. You have to make decisions regarding someone's health, and often there is no one action that would clearly be the best one," says Cheryl Sampson, a tour guide.

"What I would do depends on how far I am from a hospital. It is a good thing to have CPR training in case someone has a heart attack while you are on the road."
