Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You close the center.

This is the real-life decision that college president Jim Kassen might consider making in a similar situation.

"It's a very complex decision," he says. "You can't just close down a program without a great deal of thought."

He says that many variables come into play when choosing to close a program. The use of new technology such as online courses and video conferencing may provide affordable solutions that serve the community.

"You have to really think about the things you can do with technology these days," he says. "That might be an option in a case like this."
