Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You keep your mouth shut and go back to the drawing board.

This was the real-life decision of Brady O'Hare. He says humbling experiences like these are par for the course. "Of course, I never tell that person that I am the designer," says O'Hare. He just scrapes his ego off the floor, heads back to his office and begins fresh.

The people riding the bicycles are the people you have to listen to in order to improve on designs. Sometimes they know what they're talking about, such as professional racers, and sometimes they don't. You might think your bicycle is the greatest design, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is, says O'Hare.

He cites one of his most irritating experiences: "I work on a product for three years and I make it absolutely perfect. It comes to a point where you have to turn it loose, and sometimes it's not quite perfect."
