Real-Life Decision Making

Competition is fierce in the airline industry. Companies hire operations research analysts to help them be as efficient and as profitable as possible. Skylark Airlines has hired you to help them figure out how to bring more customers on board.

Skylark wants to increase its customer base by reducing its seat prices. But with its current number of seats available, it can't afford to reduce the price. The aircraft they use can hold 200 people comfortably.

Skylark figures that by adding another three rows of seats at the back of each plane, they could have more paying customers per flight, and also reduce the price of each seat.

People want low fares, and this seems like a good solution.
