Real-Life Math

As a script supervisor, part of your job is to use a stopwatch to time each scene. You then have to add up the times for different scenes to calculate the total.

You're working on the set of a made-for-TV movie. Today, 8 minutes and 37 seconds has been shot. Up to today, 36 minutes and 24 seconds had been shot. The director has decided to not use a scene shot a couple days ago. Its length was 2 minutes and 58 seconds.

  1. How many minutes of the film have been shot so far?
  2. If the estimated total time for the film is 91 minutes and 27 seconds, what percentage of the film has been shot so far?
