Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You align yourself with the corrupt government soldiers in order to get food to the people.

You decide that the starving people matter most. If you have to align yourself with a corrupt government to get to the people, you will do it.

But before you act, think carefully. Do you want to assist the government? Will your aid make them seem more powerful or formidable? Will your aid actually increase their stay in power?

You also have other considerations outside the country. You must consider the consequences for your organization in the future. Will you be allowed into other countries, if it's known that you don't stay neutral?

"It's a question of deciding to work with different factions," says Patricia Poirier. She works for a human rights group. "These are difficult decisions. In organizations like the Red Cross, there are rules that you have to follow and guidelines to help with these decisions."
