Don Hyde, the champion calf roper, has ordered a saddle from you. He has heard you do great work. He wants to know how much a custom-made saddle will cost.

You'll need to order the leather for the saddle from Canada. The leather costs $7.50 Cdn per square foot. For the saddle, you'll need 60 square feet. Currently, $1 Cdn costs $0.83 US.

Shipping the leather to your workshop in the U.S. will cost $1 Cdn per square foot.

You estimate the saddle will take 50 hours to make. Your hourly rate is $40.

  1. How much will the leather cost?
  2. How much will it cost to ship the leather?
  3. How much will you charge for your work?
  4. How much is Don Hyde's saddle going to cost him?
