Real-Life Decision Making

You are a salesperson working in an upscale women's clothing store. You're new at the job and a little nervous.

A woman comes into the store and asks to try on a dress. She takes the dress into the fitting room and then comes out in it. You think it fits her well, but she doesn't seem to think so.

"I didn't realize the dress was a size 9/10," she says. "I've been a 7/8 all my life, so you'd better go get me the smaller size."

You get her the smaller size and she goes and puts it on. When she comes out of the fitting room, you can tell right away the dress is too small. It's pulling across the hips and the buttons are straining.

"Yes, that's much more like it," she says.

You think she looks silly in the smaller dress and would like to suggest she take the larger size. You don't want her to get home and hate the dress and never come back to the store. But if she has her heart set on the 7/8, you don't want to make her angry.

What do you do?
