Rewriting press releases is one of the least exciting parts of a
journalist's job. But it's necessary. You need to be able to write
about the most mundane subjects with strong language.
Rewrite the following
press release. Be sure to include a quote or two. Have a lead paragraph that
grabs readers' attention.

CITYVILLE -- Olympics 2015 Cityville is pleased to announce
that John Doe has been named the bid corporation's CEO and president.
Doe
will oversee and lead the Olympic Bid Corp.'s strategic action plan.
This plan will be developed and refined within the next 90 days. The executive
committee and the board of directors will then review it.
David Smith
is chair of the bid corporation. He made the announcement at a press conference
today.
"I'm very excited that John has agreed to lead the bid
corporation through this next important phase of the process. I look forward
to working with him to ensure that the bid is viable," Crombie said.
"I
can't think of a better person to do the job. John grew up here and loves
this city. He has a phenomenal understanding of the world of sports. His successful
experiences with the world championships of basketball and the World Indoor
Track and Field Championships will be invaluable to us."
Doe is excited
about the city's chances for the games. "Although Cityville 2015 is considered
by some to be the underdog, I'm highly confident that our city can produce
a strong and winning bid," he said.
"A winning bid, however, will require
the support of all stakeholders -- including the people of Cityville."
Doe
added that the people of Cityville will be regularly updated on all major
developments. After 90 days, the next phase of the bid process will be announced.
"This
will continue to be an open and inclusive process," Smith said. "We'll
be spending the next little while listening to and engaging as many representatives
of the city as possible."
Government officials support the appointment.
"John Doe will make our great 2015 Olympic bid even stronger," said Cityville
Mayor Mike Jones.
