Real-Life Decision Making

You've had a pet salamander, Sally, for four months. She has started to develop what looks like some kind of rot around her mouth and on one of her limbs. You figure you better do some research on this so you know what you're dealing with.

You find out that this is a common disease of the mandarin salamander. Mouth rot and skin rot are caused by a bacterium and can be cured by early detection and treatment. Treatment involves bathing twice daily for five to 10 minutes in a strong solution. Once it clears up, the treatment must continue for four weeks to avoid any more occurrences.

But half of Sally's jaw has already rotted off! What are you going to do?
