Real-Life Communication

As a yoga instructor working for yourself, you need to be able to promote your own classes to build a base of students.

Yoga is breaking into the mainstream as a fitness activity, but many people do not know about all the benefits of practicing yoga.

"Communication is a huge thing in my field. I need to be able to explain to students in very clear and concise language how to do the yoga postures so that they don't injure themselves" says Raymonde Worsfold. He's a yoga instructor. "I also need to be able to communicate to the public what yoga is about to be able to grow my business."

Since you have just opened a yoga studio, you would like to have a grand opening to introduce your new space to the community. You decide to advertise in the local paper, so you need to prepare the advertisement. Since space is limited, you must write a punchy, concise ad to catch readers' attention and convince them to check out your studio. Here is the information that you want to get across:

  • Date: Saturday June 10
  • Time: noon until 6 p.m.
  • Location: Sunbeam Yoga Studio, 1123 Dorian Street
  • Classes offered: Morning yoga, candlelight yoga, power yoga, hatha yoga, recovery yoga
