Local Area Network Administration Technician

Real-Life Activities

Real-Life Communication

You are a local area network administrator (LAN) technician working at a major corporation. One of the employees has an extremely important presentation in about two hours. In his stress to get it done perfectly, he has managed to overload the system and crash his computer.

He calls you frantically telling you what has happened. He is in a panic and needs you to fix the problem right away, as well as recover the presentation.

You tell him you will do your best to get it fixed, and that it's probably best he take a break while you take a look at the problem. He leaves and you begin to work.

Five minutes later, you get a call. "Is it ready yet?" asks the frazzled employee. You tell him no and you get back to work. He then proceeds to call you every five minutes to see if everything has been fixed, and each time, you tell him no. You need to explain to him it will take time and calling every five minutes won't help.

How do you explain this
