Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You decide to wait until morning to search for the hunters.

This is the real-life decision made by guide outfitter Sven-Erik Jansson.

He found himself in this situation while guiding: two of his clients went missing. As darkness fell, Jansson started firing single shots out into the air. He wasn't sure if the men were lost or injured. He kept the other hunters together and hoped that the two missing men would wander into camp during the night.

In the morning, Jansson was about to call the authorities for help when the two men returned. They had ignored the instructions, gone the wrong way and got lost.

"The situation should never have happened in the first place. If it does happen, waiting until morning is what we always try to do. I would still do the same thing today. It was too dark and too late to do anything."
