Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You keep going, pass three more cars and finish in second place.

At least, that's what Amy Selig did during a race in Tennessee recently when she faced this decision.

The prize purse of $3,000 added points to her quest for an overall, season-long, super-modified stock car championship and eventually will lead to some more opportunities.

"I guess instinct is what told me to keep going. I was just so focused. It felt right to just push the pedal down a little more and hope for the best."

By the time she got to the finish line, the engine was smoking even more, but had not suffered any permanent damage.
