Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You do nothing until the investigation is further along.

This is the real-life decision that securities commissioner Brad Skolnik would make.

"You make decisions on a daily basis," he says. "You have to have excellent decision-making skills and sound judgment."

Most importantly, you can't make rash decisions. You must wait until evidence backs cases of alleged fraud.

"You have to make the right decision in cases where criminal charges are going to be laid or civil action will be taken," says Skolnik.

You want to protect the public, but you must also consider the rights of the accused. "Actions taken can have a devastating impact on the accused," he says. "You don't want to wrongfully accuse people. It can damage their business and their reputation. You must review all the facts."
