You've had to return a package to a customer because it didn't have enough postage on it. The customer is not happy.

She has to pay the shipping charges back to her address from the post office. She also has to pay the amount she was originally short to re-send the package.

She ships a lot of packages, and this is the first time a package has been returned. She's angry and wants an explanation.

Your supervisor has recently told you the post office used to send packages if they were a bit short on postage, but not anymore. The post office estimates it loses $50 million a year on such things. Therefore, they've started to be stricter about the rules. It's all part of being an efficient business, your supervisor has explained to you.

Using what your supervisor has told you, and your own conflict resolution skills, decide what you'll say to the customer. Try to calm her down and clearly explain why she has to pay the charges.
