Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You tell the couple that the water may indicate major structural damage.

This is the real-life decision that Larry Willick, a building inspector, would make.

"You'll only survive in this business if you are honest," says Willick. "It can be difficult because realtors really control the industry. Realtors will become angry if you are honest and tell clients what is wrong with a building.

"You can't try to impress a realtor, you have to do your job," says Willick. "It won't pay in the end to be dishonest. I've been telling the truth, and I've been in the business for a long time now."
