Real-Life Decision Making

You are an economic development officer. Over the last few months, a debate has been raging at town meetings as to whether a park or a shopping mall should be built on the site of an old cafe.

While parks are always nice to have in a town, a shopping mall would bring some much-needed business into the area.

A vote is being held today on the issue. There is $4 million sitting in the town's coffers waiting to be used to build either a nice park or a shopping mall. Although the town could always use extra revenue, nothing quite beats a park for serenity and natural beauty. It would do much for the town's appearance.

What do you do?
