Real-Life Communication -- Solution

Be sure your guidelines include instructions for all of the following categories:

  1. What is this medication used for?
  2. How is this medication taken?
  3. How often can it be taken?
  4. What dosage should be given?
  5. When should it be taken?
  6. Is it taken on a full stomach or an empty stomach? Are there any other specific instructions?
  7. Can you mix this medication with other medicines or alcohol?
  8. Who should not take this medication?
  9. What are the possible side effects?
  10. What should the person do if they experience side effects?
  11. What should a person do in case of accidental overdose?

Explain this to your friend. Then ask your friend questions to be sure they understand every detail.

"If you can't communicate, you're finished as a clinician," says Dr. Brian Rowe, a clinical research physician.

"Being a writer is a critically important feature of the research career. And obviously communicating with patients and staff to get people to work towards the same goal is also critically important."
