Real-Life Decision Making

You're a hydrologist helping to supply water to an African village. You and your team have decided to drill a well between this and a neighboring village because it's the most stable place and will provide lots of water.

Through your interpreter, you've learned there is a feud going on between the two villages and that the villagers may refuse to use the well if they have to share.

You're frustrated, because you've found a good location and could service two villages with one well. Now your assistant is suggesting you build somewhere else.

You could just go ahead with the original plan and build the well. You could have an interpreter explain the situation to the villagers, telling them why they will have to share the well. Or you could go back to the drawing board and look for another solution. That would require starting all over again.

What are you going to do?
