Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You go to the dinner, but leave early.

This is the real-life decision made by basketball player Sharon Manning. She is a starting center.

Manning says getting enough rest before a big game is essential.

"If you stay out until 5 o'clock, 6 o'clock in the morning, and you've got a 3 o'clock game [in the afternoon], there's no way you can get the proper rest to function and to be your best," she says. "I don't care if it's sports or it's your job. You want to be the best at whatever you do."

If a player doesn't get enough rest before games, the team will warn them. If the problem continues, the player could lose their starter position, be fined or even be kicked off the team.

Treating your body well is just part of the discipline needed by professional players.
