Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution
You party until you drop.
You have a lot of fun and are the life of the party. At 5 a.m., you crawl
into bed.
Four hours later, you crawl out of bed. You're exhausted, but you have
to get to practice.
You slog through practice. That night, for the first game of the play-offs,
you aren't in top form. In fact, you make a lot of silly mistakes because
you're tired. Your team loses.
After the game, your coach tells you to show more discipline. She knows
about the party, and isn't impressed. Because of your night of partying, you've
let the team down.
For player Sharon Manning, discipline is simply a matter of setting priorities.
"You've got to decide what's important for your body," she says. "Not only
for your body, but for your mind, too, when playing in sports. And that goes
for life."
