Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

Swing heavy and try to hit the runner home.

The pitch flies toward you and it's in a pretty good place: right in the strike zone and up pretty high. You decide in a split second to hit it with all your might. You connect but not good enough.

The other team predicted you'd try to hit it hard since you have a reputation for heavy hitting. So they had their players ready, far out in the field. One of them catches the hit.

You're out, but the runner manages to run from second to third after the ball has been caught and is safe at third, but the next batter strikes out and the inning is over. Your team didn't get anyone home.
