Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

Go for a slightly lighter hit and try to throw the other team off guard

It's good to keep them guessing in baseball. You know that because of your reputation, the other team is waiting far out in the field for the ball. So you decide to show a bit of restraint and not hit it as hard as you usually do. This works out and the ball falls into the outfield. No one is there to get it because they all backed up when you stepped up to plate.

Your runner gets from second to home and you get to first. The game is 5-4, you're on base and there is still only one person out. Things are looking up.

"The ability to make a decision is important on and off the field," says Justine Siegal. She is the founder and executive coach of a Massachusetts-based organization that offers baseball instruction for men and women.
