Can you take the full 15-yard penalty?

The distance from the ball and the goal line is 27 yards. You are permitted to take the ball half of that distance.

27 / 2 = 13.5 yards
Therefore, you cannot take the 15-yard penalty.

"You have to do a lot of arithmetic," says Jeff Hilyer, a high school football referee. "It isn't difficult, but you have to think about it."
