Real-Life Decision Making

After working 15 years in the telecommunications industry, you set up business as a private contractor. You've concentrated your business on telephone system repair.

Times are tough and you've been having a difficult time making ends meet. A customer calls and asks you to come over and take a look at his system. You take one look at the problem and shudder.

The system is awful! It's been fixed and repaired so many times, it seems like a jungle of wires. It would take a couple of days just to get the system back in order.

The job would mean good money for you. But you realize it would be cheaper in both the short term and the long run for the customer to buy a new system. Unfortunately, you don't sell new systems.

What do you do?
