You are a forensic anthropologist. You are studying ancient civilizations and collecting small fragments of human bone.

At the lab, you use statistics to draw conclusions about your collection of bones. "Since a forensic anthropologist makes conclusions on the basis of skeletal measurements, he or she needs to have a sound knowledge of statistics," says Stefan Schmitt, a forensic anthropologist in Florida.

1.) You have 3 human skeletons. You estimate that when they were alive they measured 5'3", 5'8" and 5'5". What was the average height of these skeletons?

2.) There are 206 bones in the human body. Approximately one-seventh of these bones are in the head. About how many bones are in the human head?
