Real-Life Communication -- Solution

Your letter could look like this:

Dear Olympic Official:

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to introduce myself. As you know, I began my boxing career eight years ago while I was still in high school. During that time, I won two conference awards for being the best boxer in my weight class.

After high school, I continued my boxing with trainer Jack Miles. Under Miles' tutelage, I have competed in more than 30 matches and I have been awarded three state championships. Additionally, I won two regional championships last year.

I look forward to having the opportunity to qualify for the Olympics. Should you need any further information, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Joe Smith
