Additional Information

In the United States, the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors is the only standard recognized for in-service inspection repairs and alterations of boilers and pressure vessels.

Those wishing to become boiler inspectors should talk to a practitioner in their region, as training and certification vary by state.

Sometimes the position requires only a high school diploma -- training is provided on the job.
